Where and Who
A secret spot in Deer's Choice wood (planted 1991). Sheltered seclusion and sunlight, as close to wild camping as it gets. Suitable for one or two families or a handful of friends. Max 8 people including kids. The perfect playground for children and adults after a private space far from others
What's Outside
- A fireplace with logs to sit on
- Loads of wood to scavenge off the floor (BYO bowsaw)
- Stand alone cold water tap, all water from the farm bore hole, safe and delicious to drink
- Private compost loo (2 minutes walk away)
- A wheelbarrow to transport your gear (parking 3 minutes away outside the wood)
What To Bring
- A tent and everything you need for a weekend camping trip...except a fire pit
- Don't bring too much food!The farm shop is full of fresh veg, fruit, meat, dairy and bread from the farm as well as all the groceries, alcohol and household items you could ever need. Coffee and cake, lunches
What To Do Here
- Hang out! Let the children explore the 2 acre enclosed young woodland. Shout and they'll hear you. Eyes peeled for deer, muntjac, rabbits, hares, foxes...their own British woodland safari
- Amble or bike down the old railway line (then loop back across the fields) to the farm shop to pick up local fresh organic food to take back and cook on the fire
- Explore the farm and it's many woodlands. During the summer there are farm walk, tours and activities. Booking essential
- Adults only? Enjoy a private sauna session, just across the fields then cool off in the natural swimming pond or shower fed from the farm bore hole (email for details)
- Hire eBikes from Cotswold eBikes who are based on the farm. Child seats/trailers available. Multiple routes taking in the best of the Cotswolds sights, food and watering holes
- Visit Cirencester (2 miles), a lovely historical market town with a great museum, lido and lots of indie shops
Important Info
- No shower (can use campsite short drive/15 min walk away)
- Arrival between 4.30pm - 7pm
- Departure by 11am
- Cars to park 3 mins walk from the camp, wheelbarrow provided
- No rubbish facility but there is recycling for glass and tin at the farm shop
- Sorry no dogs, day visitors or amplified music
