Welcome to Abbey Home Farm Campsite Rules and Regs

We hope you enjoy your stay here and dont want to bombard you however here are a few rules we ask you to please respect whilst you are here: this is a 'leave no trace' campsite - please leave no trace of your stay when you leave.

If, after reading all the info below and on the booking page, you still have a query, please email us as we do not have a telephone number for the campsite.

PLEASE NOTE:

1) No dogs, caravans or vehicles longer than 15' ( 4.5 metres)
2) This is a family campsite and is not suitable for adult only groups
3) No unaccompanied under 21's
4) Tents need to be moved after four nights to protect our grazing. There is a maximum 7 night stay on site

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

0 to 12's £2 each per night.
Over 12's £5 each per night.

HOW CAN WE BOOK?

You can book online - we do not have a telephone booking system.

DO WE HAVE TO BOOK?

It is advisable to book online (we only process bookings on Fridays until 12 midday) to be certain of a space.
You can turn up in SHOP OPENING HOURS and book in however we advise checking online first to see if there is space.
If the campsite is full, we will clearly state this on the camping homepage. This usually only happens on bank holidays and very sunny weekends.

WHAT TIME CAN WE CHECK INTO THE CAMPSITE?

You can arrive anytime in shop opening hours.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays : 9am -5pm
Fridays : 9am - 6.30pm
Sundays : 11am - 4pm

THERE IS NO ADMISSION TO THE CAMPSITE AFTER SHOP HOURS OR ON MONDAYS IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCES - remember to allow LOTS of time for traffic jams on Fridays in particular.
After the shops shut there will be nobody here to book you in and there is NO access to the site without directions and the gate codes (we will not give codes in advance).

WHAT TIME IS CHECK OUT?

Check out is 4pm.

CAN WE INVITE DAY/EVENING VISITORS ONTO THE CAMPSITE?

Day visitors need to book at the farmshop or online exactly the same as campers, and to collect a vehicle pass if they are taking their car onto site. Please note anyone going on site for even a short amount of time is a day visitor and needs to book in.

THERE ARE TWO CAMPING FIELDS - WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?

1) VEHICLE FREE SITE (no vehicles even for loading or unloading)
Camp on the large field overlooking the beautiful valley ; leave your car on the gravel car park and use the wheel barrows to take your gear to the field.

OR

2) SMALL CAMPERVANS, TRAILER TENTS AND TENTS WITH CARS
Take a pitch between the two hedges. A pitch is between two fence posts - park against the big hedge on the left leaving a track for others.

CAN ADULT ONLY GROUPS BOOK?

We are predominantly a family campsite and do not take bookings for adult only groups of more than 4 adults. However our Yurt Camp, Magical Glade or Special Occasions Field might suit your group.

CAN FAMILY GROUPS PITCH UP TOGETHER?

We can accomodate groups of families if they are happy with our 10.30 noise curfew. We don't have pitches - it is a first come first serve basis.

We ask for no amplified music at any time and to respect all neighbours no noise after 10.30pm

Please email us if your group will be larger than 20 people just to check there will be space in one place for you.

CAN WE BRING OUR DOG?

This is a DOG free zone – this is a stock farm and we can take no chances.

CAN WE HAVE A FIRE?

Fires can be made in braziers that do not scorch the grass, either your own or hired from us (£5 per 2 nights, but not bookable in advance).
Do not light fires on the ground itself. Ash from braziers can be emptied into the metal tank in the open barn. FIREWOOD can be bought from the farm shop or bring your own. No scavenging for firewood in the woods, many small creatures live in dead wood and it is a very valuable habitat.

WHAT SHOULD WE DO WITH OUR RUBBISH?

There is recycling for tins, glass, paper, shoes(!) in the farmshop back car park. PLEASE TAKE ALL OTHER RUBBISH AWAY WITH YOU. We have no facility to take landfill rubbish for you.

IS THE TAP WATER DRINKABLE?

The water taps are round the back of the loos and on the edge of the wood by the car park. The water is delicious to drink, straight from our bore hole and quite safe.

DO YOU HAVE 'PROPER' TOILETS?

There are 2 ladies and 2 mens compost loos just inside the wood. PLEASE USE THEM and not the wood. Will regularly puts sawdust in the loos, if you need anymore it is in a bag behind the gents.

DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

There are no showers at the campsite. You will find 2 washing cubicles next to the compost loos. Bring a bucket, warm some water on your fire and get refreshed!

WHERE CAN WE WALK ON THE FARM?

You are welcome to explore our Farm Trail- there are often cows and sheep along it (see map/look out for the white arrows). Quite often there is a farm walk – see website or board at shop. We ask you not to enter fields with livestock for your own safety and to reduce stress for the animals. You are welcome to talk to them over the fences. If in doubt don't touch the fence – it could be electric.

WHAT SHALL WE DO IN AN EMERGENCY?

There is a Minor Injuries Department at Cirencester Hospital. This is located on the Cirencester ring road opposite Waitrose.

If you need to call emergency services the campsite is the next field entrance after the organic farm shop on the B4425 Burford Road out of Cirencester. Remember to meet them on the road as the gate padlock needs unlocking.

WE NEED TO BRING AN EXTRA CAR BUT DIDN'T PUT IT ON OUR ORIGINAL BOOKING.

Please let us know when you check in so we can issue you a car pass. If the campsite is fully booked the car will need to be parked in the farm shop overflow car park (5 mins walk to campsite). You can use your other car to ferry you equipment round to the campsite. If the campsite isn't full it can be parked in the car park on the campsite.

DO YOU HAVE A SHOP ONSITE?

We have an award winning shop and organic cafe 5 minutes walk from the campsite.

We sell a huge range of organic food including veggies, fruit, bread, meat, dairy produce from the farm. All the usual groceries too as well as camping essentials ice cream, loo roll, fire wood etc.

The cafe offers coffee and cakes all day and lunches, wifi and some outside seating for cafe food.
Weekday and Saturday's lunch is veggie, Sunday lunch includes a meat roast straight from the farm with vegan/veggie choices too and yummy homemade puddings. We do not take bookings in the cafe.

CAN WE CANCEL OUR BOOKING?

As the camping charges are very low we do not operate a cancellation or change of date service.
