NURSERY PRACTITIONER LEVEL 3 OR ABOVE - FULL TIME

(approx 40 hours per week starting end of September 2019
This position can be permanent or for a 6 months period OCTOBER to APRIL)

The Farm Nursery is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner who loves young children and shares our farm ethos working towards a more sustainable planet in all areas of our lives.

The emphasis of the Farm Nursery is on child led outdoor play including growing (and eating!) organic vegetables, woodland activities and farm activities so the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a strong knowledge of the natural world, be interested to learn about organic farming and have experience of flower and vegetable growing. (without chemicals) Forest school training is desirable though not essential.
If you wish to join our friendly small team you will need:
• Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare or equivalent (applicants who do not hold a relevant qualification will not be considered)
• Clear DBS
• Experience working in early years
• To promote a fun, and educational environment for the ages of 2-5 years
• Understanding of play based approach to children’s learning and development
• An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
• Knowledge of child protection procedures
• Passion for working with children
• Strong communication skills: written and verbal
• Work in partnership with parents and carers
• Good timekeeping and organisational skills
• An enthusiastic, flexible, can do attitude
• Work as part of a highly- motivated and professional team
• Be prepared to go outside in all weathers

Dairy Processing Assistant - Part time

We are looking for a local helper to assist in our micro dairy, learning to process our farm milk one day a week and helping to keep the dairy clean and tidy.

The ideal applicant will be of a tidy nature, with good understanding of hygiene, an interest in local food production and with a can do enthusiastic attitude.

Thursdays 5 hours approx.
Every other Friday 2ish hours.
Covering Dairy processing manager holidays when fully trained.

Full training will be given, although having worked in the catering/processing world would be an advantage.

Please note this job does involve some heavyish lifting.

Stockperson/General Agricultural Worker Required For Abbey Home Farm, Cirencester, Glos

An enthusiastic and flexible stockperson/general agricultural worker is required at Abbey Home Farm commencing at the end of August 2019.
Abbey Home Farm is an award winning 650ha mixed organic farm near Cirencester. Enterprises include: arable, beef, sheep, poultry, dairy, pigs, on-farm dairy processing and on-farm poultry processing. An opportunity arises for an individual to extend their skills and gain valuable experience. Duties will include day to day work with the stock, relief milking and general farm work. High animal welfare, good record keeping and ability to communicate with the public is vital.
Experience of organic production is not essential, but a genuine interest and understanding of organic principles is required.
Accommodation can be available and salary will be based on experience.
