Gluten Free Cooking and Baking

Going gluten free does not mean that you have to give up your favourite foods, it just means you have to make them a bit differently. This class will break down the science behind cooking without gluten, overview an assortment of gluten free flours and show you how to create your own gluten free flour blends. We will have you creating tasty treats such as flaky pastry, thin pizza bases, moist cakes and delicious muffins.

The day will consist of demonstration and hands on learning. Coffee and tea will be provided. A gluten free lunch of items created during the course accompanied by a few of the cafes famous salads and fresh tender greens from the farm is included. Please bring a container in case of any leftovers. Cookery classes are taught in the farm shops teaching kitchen. The dishes created will be inspired by what is available from the vegetable garden.

All classes are vegetarian and we will happily cater for those who are vegan, gluten-free or have other special dietary requirements. Please let us know when booking so we can plan accordingly.

Pizza bases - thin and cripsy
Millet Bread
Banana sultana muffins
Polenta, orange and almond cake
Gluten free pastry

Please note that the ingredients on this course are gluten free but the kitchen is not dedicated gluten free.
