THE
CAMPSITE
– two choices; car free or with vehicle/camper van -
1) VEHICLE FREE SITE (no vehicles even for
loading or unloading)
camp on the large field overlooking the beautiful valley ; leave your car on
the gravel car park and use the wheel barrows to take your gear to the field
through the hurdles entrance.
OR
2)CAMPERVANS,
TRAILER TENTS AND TENTS WITH CARS
take a pitch between the established hedge and the new hedge.
A pitch is between two fence posts - park against the big hedge leaving a track
for others.
FAMILY
FRIENDLY
Both our sites are predominantly family orientated, so please no noise after
10.30pm and no amplified music at any time.
SECURITY/DAY
VISITORS
Please dont give the padlock combination to anyone else even your friends -
day visitors need to pay the same as campers
so need to book in before going to the field.
DOGS
This is a DOG free zone – this is a stock farm and we can take no chances
FIRES
can be made in braziers that do not scorch the grass, either your own or hired
from us.
Do not light fires on the ground itself. Ash from braziers can be emptied into
the metal tank in the open barn.
Please drop the braziers back to the shop door if we are closed (you can drive
down the farm lane behind the polytunnels to get to the recyling etc.)
FIREWOOD can be bought from the farm shop or bring your own. No scavenging for firewood in the woods, many small creatures
live in dead wood and it is a very valuable habitat.
RUBBISH
there is recycling for tins, glass, paper, shoes(!) plastic in the farmshop
back car park.
PLEASE TAKE ALL OTHER RUBBISH AWAY WITH YOU. We have no facility to
take landfill rubbish for you.
WATER
The water taps are round the back of the loos and on the edge of the wood by
the car park.
The water is delicious to drink, straight from our bore hole and quite safe.
LOOS
there are 2 ladies and 2 mens compost loos just inside the wood.
PLEASE USE THEM and not the wood.
Will regularly puts sawdust in the loos, if you need anymore it is in a bag behind the gents.
SHOWER
HUTS
You will find 2 shower cubicles, there are foot pumps installed – warm
some water on your fire and
take it in a bucket to the shower and get the kids to pump you a shower..........
FARM
ACCESS
You are welcome to explore our farm trail there are often cows and sheep along
it. (see map/look out for the white arrows). Once a month
there is a farm walk or trailer ride – see website or board at shop. We ask you not to enter fields with livestock for your own safety and
to reduce stress for the animals. You are welcome to talk to them over the fences. If in doubt dont touch the fence – it could be electric.
